There is a new episode of the Los Cortos podcast, but this one is also in spanish. Sorry for that, we are still trying to figure out what to do with the podcast. In this episode, Blas and Yaniv talk about the show and what is going on for the big night. JUST A REMINDER THAT ALL CORTOS THAT ARE NOT IN ENGLISH WILL HAVE SUBTITLES.

Carlos works in TV with Nickelodeon as a Director and DP of “Big Time Rush”. He worked in a very successful Venezuelan film call “Doña Barbara”. He also worked in great short that is on the site and everybody should have seen by now call “La Nochebuena de Paco y Manolo”
He started as set designer and one of his first film was a Woody Allen film before moving to Director of Photography.
We talked about how to be smart when doing a short film in regards of locations, and lightning. We also discussed what formats are better depending on the project. Some times is better to shoot in HD, and sometimes if better to use film, even though that films is pretty much dead.
Carlos is now working on “Dali in 3D” and he talked about the challenges he will face while shooting in 3D.

In today’s show Blas and Yaniv sat with Fidel Arizmendi, whose latest work is a short film called “Hacia la vida”
He started as a writer for TV shows like Roseanne and Home Improvement before going to advertising. He began as a writer and later moved to be a director. After many years directing TV commercials “Hacia la vida” is his first short film.
Fidel talked about the importance of talent on a short film and how to write for them.
We talked about casting and how he approached and found a recognized actress for his short film.
